The William Becknell Cemetery is also known as Robbinsville Cemetery after the community that once thrived in this area. The cemetery is located in Red River County approximately six miles west of Clarksville, Texas on US Highway 82. On August 3, 2011, The Texas Historical Commission (THC) designated the site as a Historic Texas Cemetery, worthy of preservation. William Becknell was born in Virginia in 1787 or 1788 and is credited for establishing the Santa Fe Trail in 1821, which opened the west for trade and expansion. THE DEPOT MUSEUM

Henderson

The Depot Museum houses the Rusk County History Museum and Children’s Discovery Center at 514 N. High Street. It spreads across five acres with 12 historical buildings and 10 historical markers. Be sure to stop by the Arnold Outhouse, the only outhouse in the state with a Texas historical marker.
